The 30-second version
CareerSource Tampa Bay is the hub: federal job training, youth jobs, apprenticeships and help for veterans, parents on assistance and returning citizens.
The school district, Hillsborough College, the county, the City of Tampa and nonprofits add dozens more, many free or paid.
The gaps: no single directory, no public outcome data, and no city-run program we could find in Temple Terrace.

Guess first
CareerSource Tampa Bay runs on a $38.7 million budget. How much of it is federal money?
93%, from the U.S. Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, Agriculture and others. It's the county's designated agent for federal workforce funds. CareerSource Tampa Bay
The uncomfortable question
If 36 programs exist, why can't a resident find them in one place?
Each provider lists its own programs on its own site. Even the basics conflict: one source counts seven CareerSource centers in Hillsborough, another lists six across two counties. A parent, a career changer or an employer shouldn't need a research project to find help.
So what?
What to do with this
Practitioners
Use this directory for warm referrals, and confirm details by phone before sending someone.
Start WIOA clients early: they need a prescreen and an Employ Florida account.
Flag youth for Summer P.A.Y.S. in spring. Spots are first-come, first-served.
Employers & talent teams
Ask CareerSource about incumbent worker training and paid work experience.
Sponsor apprentices through ABC, IEC or Local 821 at Hillsborough College. Instruction is tuition-free.
Host Summer P.A.Y.S. youth; payroll is handled through a staffing partner.
Community partners

Ask every program to publish simple outcomes: people served, placed and earning.
Bring satellite services to Temple Terrace, such as a library job-help day.

Finding
Where sources agree
CareerSource Tampa Bay is the county's designated agent for federal workforce funds and the main entry point.
Hillsborough College and the school district's technical colleges are the main training providers.
Youth summer work and apprenticeships are the most common "earn while you learn" options.
Where they conflict, and why
Center counts: local news says seven CareerSource centers in Hillsborough; CareerSource lists six across two counties. Affiliate and partner sites may be counted differently.
Naming: CareerSource Tampa Bay, CareerSource Hillsborough Pinellas and Hillsborough Community College / Hillsborough College appear interchangeably as names changed.
The strongest counter-case
This list is a floor, not a census. Our first pass missed Rick Lott Technical College, Workforce Development Partners and Florida Trade Academy until a reader flagged them. Many employer-run, faith-based and small nonprofit programs don't publish online.
Programs may track outcomes internally and report to funders even if their public pages don't.
Program details (pay, dates, eligibility) change every year.
Still unknown
How many residents each program serves, and how many find jobs.
Full program lists at the three technical colleges and in Hillsborough College's adult vocational catalog.
Whether Temple Terrace runs any program of its own.
Full program details for Workforce Development Partners; its website couldn't be loaded for this review.
Employer-led academies and union training programs beyond those named here.
What would change the verdict
Published performance data (CareerSource's state performance reports, program-level placement and wage data) and a survey of providers to capture programs that aren't online.
Interests to note: program pages are written to recruit participants and naturally highlight benefits. City and county pages promote their own initiatives.
